Frameless kitchen cabinets – structural question
Hey all,
I’m gearing up to start building frameless cabinets for my kitchen. Most articles, books, etc that I’ve looked at specify the bottom of the box (that will sit on the leveled base) is built to be inside the side panels. Thinking about the weight of heavy countertop materials all sitting in shear frightens me. Shouldn’t the sides sit ON the bottom panel to push the joint together rather than apart?
thanks for any input/experience you might share on this weighty issue.

Frameless kitchen cabinets are a good idea. You can consider a lighter base to avoid the problem.
