Friends,
I was contacted by a lady named Wendi who has some persimmon trees on her property that she would like to give away. All you have to do is cut the trees down and haul the wood away. She is located on Kent Island, MD, about an hour from Washington, DC. If you are interested, please contact her at
She asked if I would let the Washington Woodworkers Guild know about the wood, and if I would post a message here.

I did make it to the last Guild meeting and you were right, they are a good bunch of guys. I'm going to join.
S,
I am sorry I was out of town for the WWG meeting. I knew you would like it. I do hope you will join. Wait until you see the December meeting. A Christmas party with the buying and selling of tools - a big bowl of punch. Potato Chips. Possibly sandwiches. And someone may bring a cake. And now we also have Name Tags).
It is possible that one of our members will receive an award at the Christmas meeting - from Marc Adams, for completing his 48th course at the School. And I believe he did this in less than two years.
You can't believe how wild these meetings can be!!!!!!!!! We may even have a talk by our President (of the Guild, that is). I just bought a new pair of jeans for the occasion, and I may to up to Cabella's and get a new work shirt for the party too.
See you there (if you can take the excitement). :-)

Dusty,
From what I hear, there is enough persimmon wood for an entire set of Big Berthas, a wooden golf cart, and a small villa.
Now don't you wish you lived here in Virginia? We'd love to have you over here. Just think, you would only live 20 miles from Obama, and only two hours from joinerswork, and just down the road from Samson.
