I assume you mean make the doors?
Depending on the size I would bet you can buy them much cheaper than you can build them.. AND all the glass to cut! Geeeeee
Good luck. I have two I made long ago but I just took apart the old ones and measured all the sticks.. Worked, but doubt I'd do it again. Just me though.
The doors will go into an arched opening so I think I would have to make a template of the arch and custom fit the door. So I dont think I could buy this one off the self.
Thanks for your advise.
Just a thought...
I saw a home with french doors and arched windows above. Just from the outside though. The arched windows were not part of the door.. Looked pretty nice...
Are you building exterior or interior doors? If they are exterior make sure that you can source hardware and especially weatherstripping in small quantity. In my experience a lot of the better seals are only available in large amounts unless you buy from a door maker. For small numbers of doors you probably will find as Will stated that it is cheaper to buy from a custom door supplier. If exterior and authentically divided lites check the minimum square foot price per lite. Some manufacturers have a 3 sq .ft. min regardless of size to supply insulated glass.
Amazon search on the author John Birchard will be fruitful.
cstan,
Thank You!
I looked there the other day but must have used the wrong key words for my search.
You're welcome. I believe Alan and Gill Bridgewater (sp?) have one out too. All you have to do is search Amazon with a string like "making doors and windows" or something along those lines.
