I have this bedside table and wanted to lighten up the colour of the drawer. It’s a disaster because we applied two coats of Osmo hardwax oil and it looks very rustic compare to the look of the table.
So now I’d like to paint it in off-white. I’ve seen hundreds of tutorials, checked websites and tips in this forum……have no idea how to get this finishing. It is shiny but not too much, and it’s definitely no chalk paint. Any idea would be very appreciate it.
The photos are before and after (now we sanded it again), plus picture of the ideal finish.
Thank you all so much for your help. Best,

Is milk paint what you want? Different from chalk paint.
Does milk paint manage this silky (not too shiny effect)?
I have no experience with it. Thank you
Yes, just rub it out with coarse paper towels or regular kitchen/bar towels. Doing so will impart a low sheen and make the surface smooth to the touch. You can wax over the top of it for more shine and a little protection against water spotting.
