French Rolling Pin: Any plans for one?
I got some interesting wood (olive if you must know) and it isn’t big enough for a standard rolling pin.
A french one is workable from a blank this small.
Has anyone ever made one, and if so could they share the dimensions they made it too, as well as thoughts they had if they wnated to remake it better.

I have turned at least a few hundred in everything from walnut, maple and birch to some funky laminations. The French style pin has no exact dimensions but a good average is 18”-24” long, 1 ½ “center diameter and tapering down to about 7/8” at the ends. Some years ago a friend wanted some for promo give always; I turned forty cherry ones in a long day from a load of “firewood”. The only tool used is a 11/2” skew and a bit of 120 grit.
The skew chisel is not one of my favorites. I would probably use a scraper.
Does the curve flow in a cicular arc or does it have a long flatter part in the middle?
