Freud FT3000VCE 3.25 HP VS Router & RT 50000 Precision Table
I bought this combo kit at Woodcraft ($399.00)and I always question my purchases. Did I make the right choice?, or would I be better off with a different setup. I’m leaning towards a Porter-Cable mod: 7518 router and building my own table.

It's always a matter of opinion. The PC7518 is a very well regarded work horse in this classification of big table routers, but it's also known to be shy on convenience features. The FT3000 is loaded with above table features and a is a well built 15 amp router. If you'll be pushing your table router hard for 30-40 hours a week, the PC or a Milwaukee 5625 might be better choices, but for a hobbyist, the FT3000 should be excellent. I have a MW5625, but I use the smaller FT1700 in my table more often than the MW due to those convenient above table features...one handed above the table bit changes are pretty nice!
