I have a set of freud rail and stile cabinet bits that are non adjustable. It is a new set never used before my attempt at making some doors just to see how well they work. After much adjustment I can get a good fit but they have to be clamped together to create a seamless joint. Has anyone else had joints that fit to tight? Is there something Im missing? I’ve used rockler set and they fit together well. Any suggestions or comments are welcome!!!

You say you get a good joint if you clamp it. I guess I'm not understanding your question. Most joints need to be clamped to get a tight fit. Under clamping pressure, does the joint come together without crushing or otherwise deforming anything? If the tongue part of the joint is a bit too fat, perhaps you can try shaving it down just a tad. It shouldn't take much. If you can figure out just where in the joint it is too tight, you might try explaining the problem to Freud and see if they have a cure.
I have an old rail & stile set (probably not Freud) that came with some very thin shims for spacing the component cutters on the mandrel. If your set is made of separate cutters on a mandrel, you might experiment with making shims of paper or other thin material to see if you can make it work better. Freud may have shims for it.
If I'm understanding you correctly, the tongue is too thick for the groove, correct?
Every bit set I've used can be taken apart and adjusted with shims above or below the bearings. In your case, the thickness of the tongue (on the coping bit) can be changed by either adding or removing shims.
Take the bit apart carefully and note the placement of the shims. Also keep in mind whatever you do to the coping bit will affect the profile bit. BTW, be careful and understand what you're doing before you start. I've gotten myself in some real fixes messing around with this.
IIRC, the profile bit is usually set because the groove is a set, unadjustable dimension.
It's actually not the subtenon that doesn't fit, it's part of the profile. It takes quite a bit of force to clamp it together but when it's clamped together the joint seems like it very good fitting. It just seems like it shouldn't take that much force to get them to fit together properly or perhaps I'm wrong
