Seems I’ve lost the 1/2 inch collet for my Freud ft2000e plunge router. Getting back into my wood shop after 15 year hiatus and it’s been a challenge. Anyway, the collet is missing and I can’t find a replacement. Tried Amazon as well as numerous tool suppliers without any luck. Any ideas would be appreciated.

I wonder if one from another brand might fit. Take your router to a store where they sell several brands and ask if they would try some (or give you permission). If you find one than fits, then order one of those.
Freud power tools are now supported by Bosch, or at least were as of a couple of years ago when I last had trouble with my router. Maybe give them a try if you have not already.
I had a similar hiatus from my shop. Sometimes life just gets in the way. What I found was that there were some tools that were just easier to replace than try and make do. I have 3 routers. Keep the Freud and passively look for a collet that fits but go and treat yourself to a nice upgrade. And by the way, welcome back to the shop.
Beasley7, thanks for the reply. I think I found a replacement collet but in the meantime, I'm going to take your advice!
I have a Freud 3 1/4 hp router that I purchased at least 10 years ago. Fellisati now makes the identical model.
When I dropped it and required some parts, Normand Inc out of Quebec provided excellent service. I see Busy Bee Tools sells them on the west coast but do not know their status as a parts supplier.
