I saw the Freud SH-5 Router Table Fence for the first time this weekend and was quite impressed. I’m seriously considering adding one to my Veritas router table. I would be interested in hearing about other’s in-use experience with this fence.
Thanks! Rick

Freud's fence has a design aspect that keeps me from ever wanting to put it "in use" and that is the split fence, with no rigid, one-piece primary fence. I have a Freud plunge router, and considered this fence when it first came out, but rejected it for that reason. Keep in mind, also, that you have to drill the table to install the Frued fence, which is not something I'm willing to do with my Veritas tabletop, flat shiny beauty that it is.
I much prefer a fence (such as the Veritas, specifically designed for their table and costing only $129), which has a rigid top rail and nesting split extrusions below. That design provides for one-handed adjustment of the entire fence toward or away from the router bit, without having to worry about one subfence being out of line with the other. Another design that provides for the same rigid fence is to have a solid fence flush with the table, with a large clearance hole, and adjustable subfences in front. Either of these designs will accomodate jointing by the use of shims behind the outfeed subfence.
The Freud fence also looks small (short in length and height) and not very accomodating to aftermarket accessories, though since I couldn't find it on their web-site, I couldn't refer to any specs.
My $.02
