Freud Shaper Raised Panel Door set Question
I have a Freud raised Panel door shaper cutter kit ( UC-900-290) that I got with some other things in a trade a few years ago. There is no info with the kit and I seem to find none on their web site.
I am needing to make some doors and want to use the kit but am having a problem setting up the Rail cutter set. There seems to be some SHIMS missing??? to get my spacing to get the proper tenon size on the rail cut.
There are diffrent size reducers that go in the bore of the cutters to use on 1/2 in spindles and there are 3 diffrent thicknes sizes but nothing that would be the corect thickness for the cut.
So does some one have this set and does it come with some shims or am I just missing something?
Thanks
Marsh
Well another day some better light and some more looking I found a spacer shim stuck to one of the stile cutters! And by gosh it’s the correct thickness, guess old age poor eye site and cataracts is the blame! Sounds like a good one any way. Problem solved!

You might try . . .
. . . contacting Freud customer service, as opposed to relying solely on info on their web page.
The catalog does state that a shim set is included. Freud has 2 shim sets in their catalog. AN73MEA9 is for 1 1/4" spindles and AN73MFA9 is for 3/4" spindles. I hope this helps.
