Give your self a gift..go for a decent stack set..you will be a lot happier.
Sphere,
The Dial-A-Width is a top quality stacked dado set. Many assume it is a wobble but it is a true stacker with the addition of an adjusting hub to eliminate the need for shims.Charles M

okay my bad..
Charles,
Can the adjustable dado be drilled for a 3/4" arbor or alternatively, is it available in 1'' arbor which can be bushed down to 3/4".

Bob,
Sorry but we don't recommend reboring the Dial-A-Width dado sets and 5/8" bore is all that is available for now.Charles M

I bought an original when they came out a number of years ago. Love it and would do it again in a heartbeat.
Cheers,
Peter
It is an excellent dado. It is virtually identical to their highly rated SD50x dados except for the adjustable hub on one of the outer blades. This hub eliminates the need for shims to adjust for tight fits. If you use todays plywood frequently, it will save you considerable time.
I have one of the originals and it has never given me a problem. The new ones are identical to the older ones.
Just finished using oldam, dial with dado, on oak venier plywood cuts great along the grain, HORRIBLE cross the grain to much tear out. I'm wondering if a stack would be better cross grain?
If the Oldham is a wobble design blade, it is not going to give the quality finish of a stacked dado, and veneer plywood needs the best dado you can get. The new Freud Dial-a-Width dado set is a stacked dado (see Mr. Charles above). forestgirl Another proud member of the "I Rocked With ToolDoc Club" .... :>) -- you can take the girl out of the forest, but you can't take the forest out of the girl ;-)
first off i'm just getting started again with wood after 35 years of working with iron pipe wood is so much softer like i said with the grai the blade was great but cross grain horrible. i have a couple of forest blades for my table saw so i may look at there stack head very satisfied with there blades. saw your comment on ridgid tools find my saw a little hard to set up but after a day its great
