furnature piece developed split in side wall
I made the mistake of bringing into my warmer house from the
cold shop a cabinent that was unfinished and noticed after a couple
of months that two split occurred in one of the side walls.
I tried clamping it shut, no way! The wall cannot be removed from the
rest of the cabinent, so all I can think of is epoxy or instant glue with thickener
in order to prevent the split from getting worst.
Any suggestions?

Leom,
Epoxy or other thick glue will not stop the splitting. There is s force inside the wood that is trying to free itself. Because of the change in moisture content of the air when it went from your shop to your house, the force got greater, and it is now showing itself as a split.
There are pressures that build up in wood for lots of reasons. We design and build furniture to take that into consideration. Design and construction can take some factors into account. However, if the wood was wet when it was made into the furniture, then cracks can occur for reasons other than expansion and contraction due to seasonal changes.
You didn't provide any information as to the construction of the piece, the wood used, or whether you have any background in woodworking or knowledge of wood movement. If you provide more information, and photos, as someone suggested, we could be more helpful.
