Anderson Ranch is in Aspen Co.
I got an email from a fellow in Bolder inquiring about doing Summer workshop class.
What level are you after, and how far are you willing to travel.
If you are in a woodworking club, some of them are hiring some of the better artisans to come do week-end workshops. If each member chips in $100 -200, you can get someone who can give a nice slide show to get everyone familiar with his or her work, then for a couple of days you get to see how the pros do some of the trickier stuff.
"Or you could spend about $1000 for a week at Penland NC or Arrowmont. in Gattlinberg Tn. etc.
Thanks for the reply. I am at the mid-level as far as skill and experience. Do you have more info on the Gatlinburg location?
Jim,
Aw, just go ahead and head out to beautiful North Carolina, you can't go wrong at the Hobbs place. I should know, Ben and Jackie are my parents.
Dad is a great teacher and all the classes are well received. In addition, there are cottages on the property for rent which are restored 18th century homes that Dad has rescued over the years (some nice furniture in them as well).
Their latest venture is a pretty nice restaurant in a restored 1840's house they moved into the field about 4 yrs ago. All 50 or so seats are chippendale/queen anne chairs made by Dad.

DANG! Post some pictures of the place.. I'd love to see them!
I could post a few but the website will be better:
The Inn and Restaurant are http://www.beechtreeinn.net .
The furniture classes are http://www.hobbsfurniture.com .
Thanks for the chance to plug for them. If you have any questions, let me know.

We had the pleasure of staying in one of the Hobb's cottages and enjoying the tour of Ben's shop and school. This is truly a unique experience of combining a great learning experience while living in authentic 18th century houses. My only regret is that I was not there to attend the school. It would be well worth the trip.
