I am in need of a well-regarded furniture restorer to restore and refinish an antique hall tree in south central Pennsylvania or northern Maryland. (This project is extremely important to my brother, so I do not want to do it myself.) If you know of someone who is very good but not PA or MD, transportation is an option. I am most interested in high quality work.
Your recommendations are appreciated.
Thanks,
Elliott

Guppy,
You might check with Dan Bodan or Dan Melhorn at Woodcraft in Harrisburg. Both are accomplished woodworkers and know a lot of "professionals" all around the area.

Thanks, Planesaw. I will ask them when I am there next (which will hopefully be soon!)

Doug Mooberry who runs Kinloch Ltd. woodworking in Unionville, PA, (near Kennett Square) does exceptional work. He refinished a curio cabinet for a neighbor of mine--the result was outstanding. Check out his website, http://www.kinlochwoodworking.com/, to see some examples of his work and for information on contacting him.
Thanks, DP. I will check them out.
