Hi folks,
I am trying to install my 2021 FWW archive on a Windows PC and it just won’t go. The shell program seems to install fine, but when I choose to Add Content (the FWW Archive Zip file) it starts, but then seizes halfway through (see screenshots).
If you have any tips, please advise.
If you have had similar trouble, please advise.
Why install it now?
Last year (spring 2022) my PC got finicky and several programs had problems, so I knew I had to erase everything, then reload Windows and all my software. I was tired of computers and ignored it, and used another PC. I reloaded all programs and data recently.

I tried installing the Archive back in 2022, when I received it from Taunton Press, and it seized then. My PC was already a known problem, and I figured that was the problem. I recently got that PC running again (10/2023) and, when the program seized during install, I remembered it had done the same thing last year. I have tried the install on two (2) PCs and the same failure occurs. I have also tried shutting off antivirus software (Windows Defender) with no change.

* Seized install on main PC (WIN 10, 16 GB RAM, fresh install, plenty of hard drive space)
* Task Manager on main PC (” “)
* Seized install on backup PC (WIN 10, > 2 GB RAM, plenty of hard drive space)
With warm regards and sawdust to all,

It sounds like the thumb drive is bad. I'd see if you can exchange it.
I didn’t know people still bought those awful Window machines anymore. Such bad memories when I look back at that experience.
Update 10/20/2023
Spoke to lady at Taunton Press today; they will send new USB. Will update once received and tried.
I purchased the update when it first came out. PC would not install it. Exchanged original drive for another, same problem. Taunton said there was a undefined problem. So I exchanged that one for another. Same problem. I simply gave up and tossed it.
As for the "problem", my PC Windows system claimed the files to download could not be found and/or were corrupted.
I purchased the FWW archive and tried to load it onto my Windows PC and experienced the exact same problem. It load sequence stopped halfway and would go no further. I called FWW and spoke to a nice lady who tried to help me. She suggested a new USB be sent but I said I did not think it was the USB but something I was doing in the load-up process. She walked me through the set-up process and again it froze halfway through the load-up. She said I would receive an email from their tech staff to assist me. I am currently waiting for that email. By the sounds of the previous posts here it's not my USB loading skills but some actual problem with the way the USB was loaded up at FWW that is the problem.
