FWW/Colonial Williamsburg Conference

Wondering how many guys here on the site might be going to Williamsburg this January?? I’ve been to several before and had a good time. Truthfully, I think I enjoy meeting all the different guys coming from all over the country as much as the presenters. No slam on the CW gang or the guest presenters they are great too. This year I see Garrett Hack is on the bill and he is good one. Last summer, I stopped by for a visit to Garrett’s shop and it was really nice to meet him and see his very impressive self built shop. The view from his bench is killer. What do you expect from a Princeton Architect? Ha. Had to cut the visit short so he could cut the hay in his field with his draft horse. Talk about multi-tasking. Love to rendezvous with some of the knots guys if you’re going.

We visited Williamsburg on vacation this summer for the first time and the whole family loved ( the wife generally hates historical stuff ). I am pretty sure that I spent an hour and a half just in the cabinet shop and would have spent more if the wife and daughter would have gone ahead of me. Someday I would really like to attend one of these conferances, but it will have to wait a couple of years. The wife already flips out when I take off to St. Louis for the annual woodshow each year.

Danmart,

My wife and I are planning on going to the second session, the one with the SAPFM banquet.

I went to the summer conference this year and enjoyed the heck out of it.

Any suggestions for where to stay?

I think this is their tenth year, I have attended four times. I now live in Williamsburg, moved from Newport News. Have been hear about three years, but missed the last two conferences, go figure. I plan to attend this year, I think it is well worth the $ especially if you live in the area. See you there.
