FWW Gallery entries need a Fast Forward button.

I subscribe to the digital version of FWW and enjoy it often. The “Gallery” section under the “More” tab is one of my favorite go-to places for inspiration. But, with thousands of reader project images to sort through, the “NEXT” button quickly becomes tedious, as it is the only way to move through the extensive list of images, and is a one page at a time process.
Those of us who use this section of the FWW web site really need a better way to move more efficiently through the list, and ideally also be able to select a specific page number. The current limitation is especially frustrating to use when trying to return to a previously viewed post number that is well down the list.
Thanks for taking a look!

Absolutely agree. It's kind of infuriating really. There are so many good projects that are buried back there. I have the patience to get to page 30 maybe, but then if I close the tab I'd have to do it again to get back to the same place.
Your suggestions are really good. To add one more, the ability to sort by category would be very handy. Although I know that would be difficult.
Edit: Just realized that the URL is very simple to edit to pick a specific page number. So you can quickly get to page 50, 75, 147, etc.
Hi justin18. Appreciate your note and suggestions. Hope editors will eventually see this. The category search might require the original authors to click on an option is a long list, but sure seems worth the effort to me. Can you please provide example url mod for a specific page?
Pat
Noted. We'll bring it up next time we talk to the devs. Honestly, this isn't something I've heard too many complaints about... so far.
FYI, here is a trick I use—and not just on FW... on LOTS of websites.
Go to page 2. Then go to the url and change 2 to... whatever. You'll go straight to that page.
Hi Ben. Thanks for taking up this effort. As it now stands, the gallery is progressively less useful as new posts arrive and a reader progresses through the pages. I don't think that is the intent, but it is the reality. Thanks for the url tip. It helps, but of course requires memorization of the page number of a specific gallery posting. I also assume that as new posts arrive, that old post page numbers will trickle on to higher page numbers, so a moving target...so not a good long range solution. In any case, thanks for helping to make this feature more useful for all of us. Pat
That problem would persist with a "to page" box too.
In all honestly, I think your use case for that gallery is not the average use case, but I could be wrong.
Agreed on all these points. I've used the trick Ben notes above related to the URL number, but the drift as things get added makes this not worth it to me. I've largely given up on the gallery at this point...sigh.
It would also be nice to include gallery results in search results. When designing a piece I would like to pull up similar works to get ideas. Such as "coffee table",...
That has long been on the list. When we redesigned the site, gallery results were included in all results. The problem there was that user-submitted gallery posts were proliferating editorial posts. I'll bring up a specific gallery search again.
All these comments are appreciated. At it's best, the ultimate solution could become a very useful creativity enhancer for all us dreamers... Pat.
