Just bought a General mortiser model#75-050MI. So far I’ve only used to Make a few test cuts,& it works Great!  The 1/2″ chisel bit set cut smoothly in Red Oak. I’ve read that you should hone the chisels before using them. I haven’t done this yet either & the chisels cut real good. I can’t wait to see how good they’ll cut after they’ve been honed!

 I bought the General after Sarge (from this forum) mentioned He checked it out & liked the way it was made.  I looked at the Delta,Jet.Shop Fox,& Fisch,Before deciding on the General,& I d have to say I feel for Me I made the right choice.& I’d recommend that any one looking to but a bench top mortiser that they check out the General before they Buy one.

 The only thing I think could be improved on is the table size. The table seems a little small But I’m working on a plan to ad a larger shop made top to it.
