Years ago, I bought a glossy hard-covered book on German (I think – it may have been Scandinavian) cabinetmaking. The style of the featured furniture – cabinets mainly – was distinctively European – lots of narrow T&G panelling, clean lines, plain light-coloured softwood. It was, as I recall, written by a professor or such, and featured the work of students or apprentices, at least in part. I think.
Can anyone recall this book? Any clues about a title? Mine has gone missing.
Why do I ask? I liked a number of the ideas, and would like to refer to them as I firm-up a style for my pending ‘family collection’ of household furniture. Every six months or so I do a bookcase cruise, wistfully thinking I’ll spot the damned book hidden in a corner of the house somewhere.
Help!
