I’ve finished a cherry tabletop with Tried and True pure linseed oil. How can I bring this mellow finish to a higher gloss?

If you add more coats you will develop a satin sheen. For more gloss you could add a coat of wax and then buff out. You could also try the Varnish Oil mix if you desire more gloss with slightly more protection. Another direction you could go is thin down some poly or varnish of your preferance and wipe on a top coat. If you desire an out of the can semi gloss next time around I would use the varnish oil mix .
Good Luck

Thanks for the lead.
This finish will not be terribly durable for a table top. You can wipe on varnish thinned 50/50 with mineral spirits. Just wipe on with a rag, let dry to the touch and wipe on another coat. It will require 6-8 coats for a durable finish that looks good. The first couple of coats will not look good at all so don't be anxious.
Thanks very much, Gretchen. I'm going to try your approach (as nervous as the first few coats will make me!)
Funny, I did the same exact thing last year.
Step one: WAIT A LONG TIME. I had the Tried & True oozing back out of the table after a month (yes I followed directions exactly). I don't think I'm alone in saying my Tried and True is just gathering dust on the shelf and won't get used again for that very reason.
Step two: Apply a couple coats of wipe- on varnish, just like everyone else suggested. I used minwax wipe-on poly and it looks great.

Thanks for the info. I plan to try additional varnish to add some gloss.
Overall, I'm very pleased with Tried and True which I've used for almost two years now. I've not had any problems with oozing, perhaps because I use only the teensiest bit with each application and I rub it out with clean cheesecloth 8-10 times. I really like the low satin finish but for this hall table we decided we wanted a higher gloss similar to another nearby table.
