My father was a woodworker during the 1940’s & 50’s. I remember him swearing by a certain glue. It came as a dry powder to which he added water. When properly mixed it had a creamy brown consistency and had a pungent odor. It had a working time of about half an hour, perhaps longer. My memory is foggy here but I seem to remember a brand name like CASAMITE or something similar. Anyone remember?

Also: Weldwood Plastic Resin Glue and UniBond 800 and other brands of urea resin glue.
These are good glues, but care must be taken in their use due to the urea formaldehyde they contain.
