Hi All
I am making a cedar plank (1 1/2″ X 11″ X 17″ ) that will be used in the oven.
I understand the cooking method is from the southern U.S.
The drill is to preheat the oven with the cedar plank on a lower rack , then place the salmon or whatever on top and cook , and voila…cedar flavoured entre.
The commercial model uses 5/16ths stainless rods drilled one inch in from each end , with recessed washers and nuts to hold the two pieces of 2X6 together.
My ??? Why not just biscuits or dowels and glue?
Will any glue hold @ 350 to 400 F.?
Thanks for any info

There are epoxies that will hold. Check West System's spec sheets. But I'd just make it a tight fit using brass or stainless rods, or even dowels. You don't need the glue at all.

As Ring mentioned, there are possibly some epoxies that will hold at those temps. But the vast majority of wood glues will go soft and gooey.
