I’m building a mantle for a fireplace. It will be the code required distance from the firebox, but I suspect parts of it will still get warm. Among the parts is an arched rail that I plan to laminate. What should my glue choice be? I know epoxy doesn’t perform well against heat and that PVA and Hide glue are softened by heating. Any help is greatly appreciated.

I'd say plastic resin glue. It has a minimum working temp, but there appears to be no maximum.
