Any suggestions on glue (type and brand) for bonding plexi to plexi? Thanks.

What you really need is Plexiglass solvent, it's applied with a syringe like dispenser when the pieces are held together. It makes some sort of a weld, very clean and quite strong.
I forgot the name of it but if you do a search for Plexiglass solvent you will certainly find it.

citrouille,Acrylic solvent is methylmethacrylate.Rich
Go to http://www.mostanythinghardware.com/plexiglass.asp they have it and the syringe as well.

Once you get the solvent, you'll have fun using it (yeah, weird, I know). When you hold the two pieces of plexi together and run the dispenser along the edge, it "wicks" underneath (doesn't take much!) and just melts the two together. Really slick. Not at all like gluing two pieces of wood.

F/G,
Will this product work with lexan as well, or is it strictly for use with plexi?
Lee
Thanks to all for the info.Mike
"Will this product work with lexan as well, or is it strictly for use with plexi?"
Lee, that I don't know first-hand. I did a quick Google and hit on this page at an astonomical (not astrological, LOL) web site. It gives physical information about the plastics, solvent info, and a fascinating technique for gluing end-to-end that is new to moi.
If you want to duplicate my Google, use lexan solvent as your search string.forestgirl -- you can take the girl out of the forest, but you can't take the forest out of the girl ;-)
My bad.
Lexan is not acrylic, it is a related molecule, polycarbonate. Some acrylic solvents will work with PC, some wont.
Cyanoacrylate (Crazy Glue) glues work, as do other compounds made for PC bondng.
Sorry.

Thanks for the correction, Rich. Maybe you have time to go back and delete that one post? Someone might find it in a search and not bother to read any further (oooooooppppps!).forestgirl -- you can take the girl out of the forest, but you can't take the forest out of the girl ;-)
