I am just about to start building furniture for a superyatch using American sycamore. The owner doesn’t want to see the glue joints. Any suggestions as to what glue can be used remembering that it is a marine enviroment. Normally I would use Wests epoxy or Gorilla grip but both these tend to bleed into the end grain and after a while show up under the varnish. Because it is a light timber and I will be using a lot of ply wood I need to find a better system

I would use Titebond II if it is going to be above standing water, the glue line will be almost invisible if your joints are tight with no gaps prior to clamping up. If the sycamore if slightly pinkish like some I have worked with then I would use Titebond III which is a little darker in color. Try a sample first, always a good idea.
I think it would be good to understand exactly what the owner means when he says he doesn't want to see glue joints. I can think of some other interpretations besides glueline, such as how well you do grain matching. You want to be sure he has realistic expectations and that you know what they are.
