I need advice on which glues or adhesives to use when bonding purpleheart to chakte viga. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Burt

I've never used those woods, but I know any oily woods should be cleaned with alcohol (not single malt!) to assist in bonding. And if you want waterproof bonds I always use Titebond III. My go-to is T-II but I use more "standard" woods like oak, maple, sapele and the like.
What are you building?
Thanks for getting back to me. I am building christmas tree topper 5 point stars. Purple heart for center pentagon and chakte viga. I made these before with padauk and cherry. I had to use the alcohol then also. and still had issues. I finally cleaned the joints again and used alcohol and urethane glue. Still together.
