I’ve come across some small pieces of maple (full 4/4, 1×1, 1×2 up to 6′ long) Would like to make a butcher block/cutting board. Any recommendations on gluing it?

Make sure you use fda approved glue. and have the end grain up on the cutting surface. Other wise make rows glue up. And then cut rows into strips and glue up. a good resorce is DIYnet.com then do a search on butcher block top. That should help.
What glue do you consider FDA approved? I think the butcher block has been covered plenty of times in the archives here. Hmmmm! 3fingers...what's that about? Saw accident?
All consumer available wood adhesives are non-toxic when cured. That said, use a Type II PVA adhesive like Titebond II. It is highly water resistant and easy to use.Howie.........
