Hi people,
I’m new so please be patient. I have been woodworking for a long time now and my business involves woodworking. But hey, I don’t know it all yet. I have a knew job which involves some Anigree (sp?) veneer and some kind of subtrate. Can I just use contact cement to glue the to together and what is the preferred subtrate. I’m making quite a large entertainment center. I’ll need a thick and thin subtrate. Any help would be greatly appreciated

Enabling,
Do yourself a BIG favor and get a book on veneering there are MANY. I highly recommend "Veneering, A Foundation Course" by Mike Burton, Sterling Press.
Yes, you can use contact cement. There are pluses and minuses to its use. But reading a book and carefully looking at the illustrations is really necessary before tackling an actual job. Mike's book is profusely illustrated and he discusses in DETAIL every step using hide glue, PVA and, yes, contact cement.
The process of jointing and joining, taping, "pressing, preparing are not difficult, but involve so many little details that only an instructor or good detailed printed instructions can really get you on your way.
