Good books with lots of images of period furniture/exceptional furniture
Dear All,
I am trying to build up my library of woodworking books. I am specifically trying to find books that have lots of images of period furniture. Sort of an encyclopedia with images of the different period furniture. Similar to this, I would love to also find a book that has stunning period furniture. Having these images handy in book form will help me as I try and gain inspiration for what to make. Many thanks for your help.
Sincerely,
Joe

You could write a book about furniture books. Can you narrow it down a little? What period or style interests you most?
If by period furniture you mean 18th century American, there are some full text copies of books online at The Met. They put their out of print books online as free downloads.
The single best is "American Furniture in The Metropolitan Museum of Art" by Morrison Heckscher. He has another book on John Townsend. I'll try a link below to show where you can get started.

Thank you John. The links are very helpful. I don't completely know what I'm looking for. What you posted is awesome.
There are tons of books on every conceivable period. Shaker. Arts and Crafts. Queen Anne. Find what you are most interested in, and dive in.
