I happened onto this sale today:

Anyone have any of these clamps? Are they as nice as the Besseys?
Looks like an excellent price, but it ends today.

I have 6 and like them a lot. I've only looked at Besseys in the store and can't give you a full comparison, but to me the Gross Stabil seem more rugged. If I hadn't blown this months budget on wood and a few other things, I'd probably take advantage of the sale and get a few more.
Waddaya mean it wont fit through the door?
Steve
I just bought 3 boxes of them. 30% off at my local Woodcraft. My first impressions are that I like them more than the bessey's that I own. They don't slide like the bessey's do, pinching my skin on my hand all the time. I don't know about you, but I work alone, and that big clamp head sliding down the bar is a pain.

Steve,
One of the advantages of this clamp over Bessy is the rubber foot....you can adjust that to your stock and the slide moves freely ...very nice.
I also hang my clamps by the rubber foot..

Thanks guys!......you twisted my arm, I'm off to order some.

Steve, I don't think you'll be disappointed. I've bought about 16 of them in the past year & have been very happy with them.
That's a good price for them. You can also check out All Pro Tool at the link below. They seem to put the clamps on sale every 3 or 4 months or so, & they typically knock about 20-25% off.http://www.allprotools.com/store/page120.html
Have been buying Gross for the last few years and recently bought 4 Bessy's and they are pretty equal. Just as a point of interest Gross was recently purchased by Bessy. Gross has a very high profile in Europe.

Great sale, Steve. Woodcraft seems to get the good deals on clamps -- I was one of the lucky ones during the Cabinetmaster half-off(?) sale a year or so ago. Only way I could ever afford to buy them!
Let us know how you like the Gross Stabil.

I have the older Gross Stabil version. Great clamps. You won't be dissapointed. You can never have too many clamps.
BTW. I have the cabinet master as well. They are equal in performance.
i have a few of these and the jorgensens. I think the bessey kbodys are much nicer. These stick badly and are an anoyance in my shop. The jorgesens slam open and closed. The besseys seem to have gotten it right the fisrt time.
The one advantage is the spreader feature.
