Hello All, OK, now I know Harbor freight has it’s pros and cons. Bottom line…be careful, but I went today and bought a couple miter clamps for $9.99 each and they look like fairly good quality clamps and the price beats anything I’ve seen for this type of clamp. They are aluminum with a 2.5″ max jaw capacity, a 2 5/8ths jaw width and the clamp depth is about an inch. Quick release type. They weigh 2.5 lbs a piece and seem Sturdy. Going back tomorrow for 2 more. I’ve seen these things from Bessey and Jorgensen for $30-$40 each. Granted, the quality isn’t the same but these have a pretty good fit and finish and I think their a good buy for a quarter of the price. FYI and have attached a photo.

They made $16.00 on your purchase. Can't beat people working for .25 cents an hour.
cool....;)
These have been on sale for years in this area, usually at woodshows and surplus outlets at similar prices. They used to be packaged in German and English, though the price is hardly German. They also make small drill vises. I've had a few for years, and have no complaints at all.

Small drill press vise. Great idea. Thanks
Actually what I meant to say was that the company (whoever they are) who make this particular clamp also make a conventional drill-vise clamp, as well as 2 0r 3 different corner clamps, C clamps, small clamp-on bench-vises, etc., all at reasonable prices. It would have been a good idea if I'd thought of it! I have no idea why you can't buy their stuff at regular outlets. It's light-duty, but very useful for things like picture frames.

Know what you mean. Not what I would use for major glue ups but I'm going to build a jig like the X shaped clamp that's advertised and is adjustable. I bought 2 more of the miter clamps today. A little t-track and a 30 X 40 piece of MDF should do the trick. Nice and sturdy and the MDF cleans up easily.
You wouldn't happen to remember the name of the manufacturer would you? Would like to check out their other clamps. I'm sure it's just an obscure place in China or some such place. Nothing on the paperwork or box other then Harbor freight info.

I'm in Canada, and the ones I bought were packaged in German (which I read, sort of) with subtitles in English. That and the colour makes me think they must be Wolfcraft, probably intended for the European market. I've checked their websites, and they seem to have cut back drastically on the variety of clamps and vises they make, so presumably they were selling off end-of-line surplus stock. The one you bought is still available new, and shows up on Amazon at around $15, which still isn't a bad price. You might still be able to find some of the others at woodshows. They still show up in my area on those bargain table dealers who sell mostly crap with the odd good deal. Sorry I couldn't help more,
Jim
Thx, I had forgotten about Wolfcraft. Oh boy! Yet another WW store!
Thx, Brian
