Good hardwood dealer in/near Fairfield County Connecticut
In June we’re moving to Ridgefield, CT, in Fairfield County on the NY border. I’ve been lucky to have a great hardwood dealer close by in MA and was curious if anyone had favorites around Southern CT.
I’ve looked on Woodfinder, and there are a few non-Woodcraft places, but they’re all 30 miles away. Curious if anyone had any experience with any of these guys (or others that aren’t on woodfinder’s list):
EXOTIC WOODS USA Northport NY (28 miles)
Naugatuck Valley Hardwoods Prospect CT (29 miles)
Suburban Mills Huntington Station NY (34 miles)
The Wood Rack Branford CT (36 miles)
Country Road Associates LTD. Millbrook NY (36 miles) |

lumber yards in Fairfield county
First, welcome to the neighborhood. I work in Newtown, which isn't that far from Ridgefield. There are several good lumberyards within driving distance. You could try Kellogg Harwood in Bethel. Also, there is a Condon's in White Plains, NY.
Good luck, Matt
Thanks Matt - really looking forward to getting down there!
Lumber yards in Fairfield County
I spend my weekends in Berkshire County, Ma and buy all my hardwood from Berkshire Products in Sheffield.

It's about an hour north of Danbury.

By the way, Northport, NY, and Huntington Station NY are both on Long Island. It would be easier to use Rosensweig Lumber in the Bronx, but you would practically pass Condon's in White Plains on the way.
Second Kellog Hardwoods as being a good place. .
The Wood Rack in Branford has a fairly limited selection of hardwoods, is perhaps better stocked with cabinet plywoods, including pre-finished.
I have used both Kellogg and Condon. Both user friendly - encourage you to go into the yard and pick through the materials. Condon in White Plains only has S2S. Kellogg carries unsurfaced material that they plane to order. I would say Condon has a more diverse selection in stock, including exotics, but Kellogg has better pricing on domestics.
