I just saw the note that you are moving on to a new role in Tauton Matt Berger. Good luck and I’m sure the rest of Tauntons web sites will do well with you at the helm. You had a challenge keeping the curmudgeons that haunt this site happy and in Line. Take care!
If it moves, tax it. If it keeps moving, regulate it.
And if it stops moving, subsidize it.

Bones,
Thanks for spreading the word. I have exchanged a few emails with Matt, and have watched him in his role as sheriff.
So Matt, if you are reading this, thank you for all you have done for Knots, and best wishes in your new role.

Thanks for the well wishes, bones, and everyone else who posted a note in the forums. I've had a good time working on this site and will surely stick around here for the good information and entertainment.

Matt,
Just crawled out from under a huge rock in Canada. So, where ya goin? And who's going to fill those LARGE shoes?
Best of luck and whoever you'll be working for is fortunate!

I must have been under a similar rock in WA. Someone please fill us in!forestgirl -- you can take the girl out of the forest, but you can't take the forest out of the girl ;-)
Thanks Bob.
I'm not going far -- about two miles down the road to our corporate headquarters. You can read all about it on our editors blog: https://www.finewoodworking.com/editorsblog

Oh Rats! He's still going to be watching us.
That means we'll still have to behave.......................
Welcome David! If you have half the fun I've had here, you won't even think of it as job! Best of luck.

"rollicking good fun"
Gad, man, how old are you??
That expression is, like, so yesterday! So yester millenia...
I thought I was reading one of my own posts there, for a second...

Matt,
I read the blog that explains your new job, and has your photo. Son of a gun. As I watched you be sheriff of Knotsworld, I envisioned you looking like Matt Dillon (James Arness) or Charlton Heston. You ruled us so thoroughly because we were in awe of your persona. Do you realize the power you held over us. You were like the Karl Rove of woodworking! But now we see that you look like one of our grandchildren. (You may be too young to know who James Arness or Charlton Heston is. If so, just Google them.) Well, you learned a lot of skills in your Knots role. You learned to keep the troops happy while keeping a reasonable semblance of order. I know you are proud of what you did here. We are proud of you.So now that you have been promoted from sheriff of Knotsworld to Governor of TauntonComputerWorld, keep us in mind. If you ever want some advice on content to add, or on new slants on things, why not post a question over here, and we will confuse you with advice, just like we confuse everyone who asks a question. So here is my only piece of advice to you in your new role. I have collected lots of people's ideas on how to lead and manage. My favorite list is from Colin Powell, and my favorite line from his writings on leadership is "Enjoy your time in the saddle". He says that too many people become overwhelmed with the amount of work and the responsibilities of a big position, and they forget to enjoy it.So enjoy your new role. Go get 'em.
We'll miss you. (But not for long. Most of us are old and forget easily. Now what was your name again?)
Good luck,
MelMeasure your output in smiles per board foot.
