I’m graduating from college next May and am interested in doing a woodworking program of some sort, maybe a one or two year furniture making. I’ve been doing woodworking, both hobby and at my part-time job at an Organ building supplier for about 6 years now and would like to make it into a career. Let me know what schools are worth checking out and what you think about them. I would prefer to stay on this half of the country ( the eastern, I’m from NW Pa), but will consider elsewhere. Thanks for all your help,
Nick

A couple of schools that come to mind are:
Furniture Institute of Massachusetts - Phil Lowe - Beverly, MA

New England School of Architectural Woodworking - Easthampton MA

North Bennett Street School - Boston, MA

Thaddeus Stevens College of Technology - Lancaster, PA

I have not attended a full time (> 1 Year) program at any of these schools but have attended many workshops at the Furniture Institute of Massachusetts and North Bennett Street and currently know some people in the full time program. If you have a specific question on these two I might be able to answer it.
It would probably be worth your while to schedule and take a trip to see all of these institutions. They each focus on a slightly different aspects of woodworking and perhaps after seeing and talking to all of them you would be a in a better position to decide the areas that interest you.
You might try talking with Marc Adams at Marc Adams School of Woorworking about an apprenticeship program. They are located a fe miles south of Indianapolis.
Frosty
P.S. Ther are no cowboys and Indians in Indiana - but there are plenty of cornfields.
