Hi, Love your magazine and website! hands down theyre the best! I’ve searched everywhere that I can think of for some information that I hope you or one of the other readers could answer for me. I have a tablesaw with a granite top and the miter slots are different widths. The left one is .0078 (1/128″) of an inch wider than the right one which is exactly 3/4″ wide. Is this difference within acceptable tolerances in the industry?

table saw miter guage slot discrepency
You are the second person in a few weeks to have problems with the slots in a Ridgid table saw. There are no standards for the slots, but you are investing in a granite top because it is supposed to be exceptionally accurate and the slots should certainly be the same width and a smooth sliding fit with very little play for the miter gauge.
The other post, at the top of this page discusses the problems the other person had. I would do what he did and just take it back to HD, Ridgid stonewalled him.
