Green streak in maple (should I be worried?)
I added a coat of osmo satin oil to a maple cabinet and a green streak with dark spots appeared. I’m ok living with it as long as it is some natural relic of something to do with the tree that won’t spread. I just want to make sure I don’t need to be concerned about it spreading (ie a sign of some active infection/bugs). It almost looks like algae to me, but I’m not super knowledgeable in this realm.
Appreciate any help!

Can't see the green on my screen.
Looks brown to me. Probably heartwood.
You may have some maple that was on its way to becoming ambrosia maple when it was cut down.
Ambrosia maple comes from a maple tree that's been attacked by a beetle. The activity of the bugs cause green-ish discoloration and tiny holes.
Ambrosia maple is often sold at a premium $$$ for its unique beauty. As I say, on your boards, the bugs didn't get very far before the tree was cut down.
Kiln drying kills the beetles
Alright - I am just going to call this poor man’s ambrosia and move on with my life. Thanks y’all!
Is that glued up? It looks like the glue line is right up the middle, along the edge of the brown streak. If so, look at the end grain. I'd still bet that's a bit of the darker heartwood.
Thanks John - the green streak with dark dots is actually to the right of the glue line. The brown bits I am not worried about. The end grain is totally clear unlike that above pic of ambrosia maple. I tried scraping and sanding it out to no avail and then just to put my mind at ease I flooded it with alcohol in case it was some humidity driven mold. The wood was kiln dried but has been in a Jersey basement for several years so it wouldn’t be out of the question that it absorbed enough humidity to be problematic.
For further context and bc my picture is garbage, it is about the color of a grass stain.
