Hello All,
I am interested in good plans for any Greene Brothers or unique Arts & Crafts furniture. If anyone has a suggestion on where I can find these I would appreciate the help. Thank you.

I haven't seen G&G plans published anywhere. There's numerous books with pictures of the pieces but no plans. I heard some of the G&G bungalow plans are kept in the Huntington Library. One of these days I'll get up to Arcadia and check it out. There's a lot in print on G. Stickley because G. Stickley published a lot of his stuff in the Craftsman magazine. There's also a pretty good book with the A&C plans published in Popular Mechanics.

Dunno if you can search American Woodworkers site to find plans, but a couple of years ago they had an occasional table which was G&G inspired with a marble top. Only thing I ever built out of a magazine, and it really was a dandy. If you can't find it, email me and I'll look to see if it isn't tucked in a dark corner somewhere & mail it to you.
Thanks ELCOHOLIC,
I havn't been able to find anything. You would think with the popularity of G&G that someone would come up with some plans. Anyway thanks for the info.
Check out the book Greene and Greene Furniture and Related Designs, by Randell L. Matkinson.
This book doesn't have plans, but it does have scale drawings of many pieces of furniture (whole suites in fact) in multiple views. It is fairly easy to scale these up to a size you want. The book has hundreds of photos as well. Some of the drawings actually give measurements, now that I am looking at the book.
Have fun,
Kit
Thank you VANDERPOOCH,
I will see if I can find that book. Seems like that's about as close to plans as I'm going to get. Thanks for the information.
You can get the G&G furniture book from the gamble house website or any of the usual on-line bookstores. I gave this issue some more thought and I have a theory for the lack of plans for G&G and FLW. This furniture was more or less one-off's designed integrally with a house. It wasn't mass produced and in some case wasn't even built by a furniture builder. The G&G furniture was built by the same boat builders turned carpenters that built the houses.John O'Connell - JKO Handcrafted Woodworking

I bet you are right. Maybe we should petition the fine hosts of this web site to look into running a continuing piece on FLW and G&G furniture so that they could work out the problems with recreating the originals. Keep me posted if you find out anything more and thanks for your help.

Popular Woodworking had some Greene & Greene outdoor furniture plans in a special issue summer 2001. It had a Garden bench and matching table. The table could possible double as a coffee table.

DAVE6281,
Thanks, I saw some of the outdoor furniture plans on the POP. Wood site but I was thinking more about the G&G furniture that was in homes like the Gamble house. I have seen a few things in fine woodworking but I was hoping for a wider selection.
Thank you

Dave,
I'll give it a try. With the help of some of the suggestions I found a little information but no actual plans. I'll keep trying. Thanks again.

Thanks Ben,
They have some nice plans, I think I may have found a few more ideas.
