I recently bought a used Grizzly G1073 16″ bandsaw for $350 and I am wondering if anyone can offer any advice on these problems. I am told it only has a few hours on it at most, and it does indeed look very clean. The date of manufacture says 1998. The only manual I can find online is copyrighted 1993.
I am setting it up and adjusting things as per the manual but I have 3 questions/problems:
1. Adjusting the support bearings that back up the blade (top and bottom). Currently the blade rests too close to the shafts of the bearings. The manual shows eccentric shafts for the bearings but the shafts on my machine are not eccentric. These shafts are hexagonal and should have the actual bearing shaft mounted to them off-center. Mine are centered and therefore do not allow any way to adjust the bearing position relative to the shaft’s mount or at least as described in the manual.. The part is discontinued by Grizzly. Am I mising something? What to do?
2. This saw is rated at 2hp in all the literature I can find. The motor on the saw says 1 1/2hp. The date on the motor is also 1998. Its not a deal breaker but has anyone else ever seen someting like this?
3. I am missing the table pin that inserts horizontally into the table in the blade slot. Is there a common item that can be used to replace this pin?
Thanks

1. I haven't tried to replace support bearings on a Grizzly saw with hex shafts, you should call customer
representative to assist you on that.
2. A 16" band saw with 1 1/2 HP , I think it wouldn't be a problem.
3. That pin is important because it aligns both sides of the table at that point. Try to search on Grizzly
for the part or email them.
