Has Grizzly been watching our posts and actually listening to us discuss the poor quality of their bandsaw blades? I just received a new catalog from them and they now list the Timberwolf blades for sale and actually include a free one with their 14 inch bandsaw (that I purchased before they offered the free one, of course). From what I recall of the Timberwolf prices the Grizzly prices on the blades are pretty good.

I am “Woody”, whose real name is Woody, not “woody”, whose real name is Ken. I am so confused…

I noticed the same thing, been using grizzly blades for 5 years. Have not used premium blades like Timber Wolf, will give it a try next time I need blades.Might be a while, I sharpen the blades when dull.

Just got back from the local Woodcraft store (50 miles away), where I picked up a 1/4" Timberwolf for some bandsaw boxes I'll be making. Paid $36 and some change. After I got back I stopped at the mail box and found my Grizzly catalog with the same blade for $18. Oh well, thats the way my luck usually runs. Anyway the intro price is good through Septerber 3, so I guess I'll be picking up several more of different sizes for spares at the discount price.
"Paid $36 and some change" Ouch! You can order directly from the maker by going to:http://www.suffolkmachinery.com
They don't even have a 1/4" blade that's $36, LOL in the Swedish steel blades).forestgirl -- you can take the girl out of the forest, but you can't take the forest out of the girl ;-)Another proud member of the "I Rocked With ToolDoc Club" .... :>)
"...the poor quality of their bandsaw blades?" It's not just Grizzly's blades, it most stock blades. I love the line that came up here at KNots awhile back -- "It's just their to keep the wheels from rattling." Too funny.
If they start putting TW blades on all their bandsaws, it's really going to improve their out-of-the-box performance.

Since the "wheel stabilizers" aren't any good for cutting, they could probably save a couple of cents on each one by not having teeth cut into them. That way, we won't be in any danger of cutting our hands, either.
"I cut this piece four times and it's still too short."
