Have any of you folks ever tried to make the dust collection better. I have a 1066. It also cold use help with the steel sleeves on the conveyor belt(which is another problem.) A thickness gauge would be a nice add on. I got the velcro kit for the sandpaper,I hope it helps. Also would it make better sense to have the drums rotating the other direction. I would be grateful for any help, thanks.

Typical drum sander issues. A few folks have come up with solutions, make shift as they may be. Reversing the drum rotation isn't one of them.

Beat it to fit / Paint it to match
Thanks for the info. I did reverse the drums and it sands much better I am working on dust scoops.
I believe the Wixey planer gauge will work on a drum sander. I just got one and absolutely love it! Had some molding to plane down for someone in another town, to match pre-existing, no way to compare to the original. He gave me a mx and with the help of the Wixey was able to hit it as close as 2 different mxing tapes would allow!
