Anyone have any experience with the Grizzly hand planes?
I know that Grizzly produces some good power tools, and if they are doing decent qa/qc on their hand planes they could be a good bargain.
So, has anyone actually had their hands on one, and formed any opinions?

I don't have "their" hand planes, but I did get "their" spokeshaves and was not impressed. I put "their" in quotes, since they are generic Chinese/Taiwanese fare, about on a par with Anant. I doubt Grizzly had any hand in their design or making. I replaced the blade with a Hock, and have spent some time filing (and still need to do some more) to get a less chatter filled cut.
In other words, much fettling to get a workable product.
If "their" planes are the same quality as the spokeshaves, I would save up for a LV or LN, or even go for a Groz, which, while not in the same ballpark as LN or LV, are better than Anant, etc. I would even get a vintage Stanley which, while it may need some work itself, will result in a user that will get used, rather than get shelved.
Definitely NOT the same quality as their power tools!
