I have read varying opinions here on Grizzly machinery, so before I were to consider spending the money, I would like to hear from some people who actually have owned and/or operated this tool.

Grizzly G0529 Sander
I will add my thoughts here about The Grizzly Sander G0529. For the money it seems like a great buy, True it was. The machine looks great on the outside but internally when you take off the side sheilds you will quickly see that is designed poorly. It has a hard plastic gear that is meshed with a metal gear, which had basically worn out after just a 1 1/2 years of use, not to mention it also has a plasic insert on the spindal shaft that has a metal key to hold it in place. Both these items were worn out and damaged. The G0529 lasted me a year and a half basically and I didnt utilze it on a daily basis. I ordered the part which did come in just a couple days but could not get the shaft apart to repair it. You will need special tools for this, thanks to Grizzly. Anyway as far as the sanders are concerned I would not purchase any of them. Go with a Jet or Delta. They will last you years of good use and if you have to repair the Jet, it is very easy and they have great technical assistance. Hope this has been helpful even though this post is dated a bit, maybe it will help others to make their decision. I wish I would have know this before my purchase.
Long gaps in this thread but, I wanted to add some value with an alternate experience. I was aware of the plastic part through surfing the forums and so forth. It was explained to me years ago when I inquired that the "plastic" gear is a shear part to avoid damage if the spindle is abused.
Anyone who has seen a random orbital sander pad with the center spun out understands what this part is protecting against. I have run the G0529 near-daily for 8 years now without issue. As with any machine, let the cutters or the abrasives do the work. Forcing things does not make them work faster, only harder.
Grizzly is a low price-point retailer. Part of them hitting that price point is certainly selling direct. This also means you have to go direct for any service needs. I have many colors of paint in my shop and a few are Grizzly. They have several items that are the "best bang for the buck". Other makers have theirs as well.
