looking for a new press , checked out grizz rad drill press floor model , seems good , anyone have this press, or comments on it . also checked out griz 20in press looks like a nice unit .. thanx

I don't have the Grizz but I do have a 17"radial DP and i think they are great. I bought a table top model and strongly recomend the floor mount because they can get tipsy if not supported poperly. You can have a bit more of a runout issue when your cutting compound angle holes, like for the legs on a Windsor chair, unless you buy a real top end machine, but its really just a bit of an issue. When I'm making succesive holes, for instance in a mortice pre-drill, I just move the head out and not the stock..saves time, very accurate.
Radials will not accomodate mortice drilling attachments i believe..at least mine won't. Good luck with your decision
