I’ve seen several references to ground your saw dust collector and here in the desert there’s plenty of static. Question is, how do you do it? I have a Jet, portable with one house that I bring to the planer, tablesaw, shaper, bandsaw as needed. Can anyone tell me if it’s possible to ground a portable collection system such as this? Thanks

Grounding plastic hose
All of your machines should be grounded. If you are using flexible VC hose, you will not b able to ground it completely. This link will take you to Dr. Rod Coles's discussion of the subject.

You can wrap copper wire around the outside to try an minimize some of the annoying shocks to yourself if it bothers you. I only experience static shocks when using the open end to vacuum up dust piles that I have swept up.
