Hello!
I recently acquired an old carpenter’s tool chest that has been in storage for some time. There are three hand saws in it. Two Disston and a Sandvik. One Disston and the Sandvik have very gentle bows toward the toe of the saw plate. There is no kinking, but it is perceivable when sighting down the saw. I have attached some photos here.
I have read some threads that addressed straightening saw plates with hot water, etc. The bows my saws have seem very minor. I believe it is due to the way there were stored in the chest. My question is, are these slight bows likely to cause a problem? The previous owner had the saws professionally sharpened prior to my acquisition. I don’t want to mess with them if they will likely be ok.
Thanks for any insight and experience the community can share!

No issue in my opinion. I think they actually look pretty good. Make some test cuts across a wide board, if you can cut to the line you’re in business.
Thanks Matt.
I don’t have anything wide at the moment. I did cut some 3/4 pine when I first got them and didn’t have trouble.
