I was just thinking that with the Tool Talk forum closing, that it might be a good thing to have a Handtool folder over here at Knots.
I realise that right now all handtool questions go to woodworking tool folder, but it would be nice to have a place to go without the noise and dust. Alot of other forums have folders especially for handtools. Some of them due brisk buisness while others are kind of quiet. It’s hard to say how it would be here. Since a good percentage of FWW is handtool work it would be nice to see it still represented on the forum.
Anyway……….What do the rest of you think about this ?

I like the idea, but have it on good authority (hello, Mark) that Knots has maxed out on the number of folders the software is designed for.

Yes, please.
There is something satisfying in shaping wood by hand. We need a place to dicuss hand tools without our posts getting lost in plethora of "Which jointer/planner should I buy?" posts in the general tool area.
AMEN!!
I think separate hand tool and power tool folders would be good. If something had to drop off, I'd suggest the Williamsburg folder. With only 86 messages out of 25,000 it should be gonged.
I just looked at it for the first time. It appears there has only been one topic in the last year. I'm pretty sure that a handtools forum would be more appreciated and see far more traffic.

I counted a total of 26 threads in the last four years, and only one new thread (with 7 posts) in the last year. I wouldn't think that kind of traffic justifies a folder.********************************************************
