I am building a painted wall cabinet for a customer that will hold several baskets. Based on the size of the baskets the overall cabinet is quite large at 58″ x 45″ and is very heavy. What recommendations do you have for hanging it on the the wall. I was thinking about a french cleat, but would like to hear your ideas.

A french cleat is the way to go. For a cabinet that large, you'll need to make sure you attach the wall side of the cleat securely to a few studs, maybe even use a few lag bolts if you think that's necessary.
The cabinet side of the cleat should also be securely attached. In one example of a wall hanging cabinet on our site (see link below), the cabinet side of the cleat is actually mortised into the sides of the case.

Here's another example that you might like. It's an entry from a blog a few years back where one of our authors was hanging a TV cabinet on the wall.

Let us know how it goes.
