No turkey bird here, standing rib roast (prime rib) and stuffed center cut porkchops.
Time for a nap!

Prime rib? Awwwww, jeeeeeez.forestgirl -- you can take the girl out of the forest, but you can't take the forest out of the girl ;-)
Ach! I had prime rib too! We had reservations at a waterfront restaurant on the peninsula, they serve an incredible TG buffet, including prime rib, scrumptious ham, turkey of course, but also crab legs, jumbo shrimp, oysters, desserts galore. Ooooof. It's been a long time since we've eaten there, forgot how good it was!forestgirl -- you can take the girl out of the forest, but you can't take the forest out of the girl ;-)
Well, we have two of the grandchildren, our daughter and son-in-law here for the weekend. A good time. But, for whatever reason the loml decided we would grill steak. And, it was great.
Cold and rainy in Pennsylvania on Thanksgiving, but decently warm and sunny today (high 50s).
Sam ( 2 and a half y.o. grandson) and I are making some wooden cars. Simple inch and 3/4 thick, and 6 or 7 inches long. 4 wooden wheels and we have a corvette and a PT Cruiser. As long as it has wheels, he is satisfied.
We are blessed with a close family. My parents, sisters and in-laws, nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles, children and grandchildren, etc. Only problem is we are scattered from the east to the west and north to south.
Hope everyone has an enjoyable holiday season through the first of the year.

"As long as it has wheels, he is satisfied." Ain't that the way it should be, LOL?! Kids are great.
"...for whatever reason the loml decided we would grill steak. And, it was great." One year, after suffering some whining from her kids about "the same ol' thing for Thanksgiving" my sister let them decide what they would have for turkey day. The chose pizza! But after sitting down to a pizza dinner, no cranberries, no mashed potatoes, no green bean casserole, no stuffing, they were very unhappy. Experiment completed, no more whining! Too funny.

Yes, tradition has a purpose. Our Christmas tradition is in its 5th generation. We have established a couple of others in our family with our children and now grandchildren. It is simply a part of the joy of family.

Same all the way around. Cold & rainy here in New England, makes you wonder why the Pilgrims settled here! Turkey and all the trimmings here, some family, some friends, new niece born on my birthday, and a shout out to my friend Basil, who just survived a major heart attack. Glad that you're home! We're all thankful for that!
Best,
John
Thanks and Happy Thanksgiving to you !
Alittle turkey this year, but I must admit I settled mostly for the prime rib : )
Happy Thanksgiving to all. Warm and sunny here, with leg of lamb here.
Alan
Started Learning, Still Learning, and still don't know enough!
We cooked turkey for 20 family members. All the kids had to stay inside because of rainy New England. This was the turkey year, every other year is a clam boil. We also do a turkey on those years. The wifes side of the family never really enjoyed a turkey dinner until they started coming to our house for Thanksgiving. Good to hear everyone had a good day.
I like turkey, but MMMMMMM clam boil!------------------------------------
