I have been a furniture maker for all my adult life, at a show, recently I saw a woodworker with very nice furniture, the design is not in my stile however the workmanship was good for semiproduction pieces.
There was a nice birds eye maple jewelry chest on stand, the hinges were the no mortise kind brass plated steel at about $2 a pair, the scews were Philips, the piece went for about $3,000.
I use almost exclusively White Chapel hardware, my screws are always slotted and the slots are timed in the same direction.
Details are what separates the men from the boys?
