Good evening everyone.
I’m trying to recreate some sliding doors from a built-in hutch into a free standing piece of furniture. The doors as they exist now slide in what I think are brass slide things (I don’t know what to call them or I could probably search for them). I’m not sure if that sort of hardware is still available and , like I said earlier, what are they called and where can I buy them?
I hope the pictures are enough information to go on…thanks for any help you can give me…

Hi, Try this link for the metal guides and for the mortised sheeves or wheels:

Sorry it is so long, but it should take you to the page that shows the actual parts you are interested in. It has been a LONG time since I have used them, but I think the tracks knocked into a saw kerf, and I ran a groove down the center of the doors, with mortises for the sheaves to be tapped up into... You have to allow for some clearance up on top to lift the doors up onto the tracks but still be held in place when they settle down on top. HTH.

The existing Sheaves and tee track can be cleaned and wire brushed, oiled and relocated in the new piece of cabinetry
The track is tacked down in a dado Groove with small nails (Escutcheon pins) They can be levered up and out with a pair of needlenose pliers.
The track can be cut with a hacksaw with a small toothed blade The 'header' must be dadoed same as on the original
The ballbearing sheaves are probably fitted in a small pocket and held with two small screws. The old hardware is much nicer than any newer type available
